Cup draw has fans on edge

The draw for the quarter-finals of the Devon Knock-Out Cricket Cup is set to take place tomorrow, sparking cup fever and bringing old rivalries across the county to near boiling point.

With the mighty Sandford CC – the current holders – being knocked out by the prodigious Plympton in an epic second round encounter, the cup is up for grabs and no-one dares make any predictions.

Exeter booked their place in the quarters with a dramatic victory over an exuberant Axminster side. Needing a teasing 7 runs from the last over, a tense hush could be sensed all over the ground. But two whopping sixes from the wild bat of Tschepo Legodi brought rapture to the Exeter fans.

Exeter will now charge into the next round in confident manner, but with competition as stiff as the likes of Cornwood, Barton, Tavistock and Bovey still in the hat – it promises to be a titanic struggle!
