Chiefs suffer Twickenham agony

17/04/07 - 0 comments

Gutted.

After two previous defeats at Twickenham, the Chiefs once again fell at the final hurdle, this time against the Cornish Pirates in a match they really should have won - leading by 10 points at one stage with a little over 10 minutes left.

The only bright spot of a disappointing day came from the mouth of a young rugby fan who made the long trip East with his family. Coming from a small town on the Devon/Cornwall border, the young lad was seen in the Twickenham merchandising area trying on some Exeter gear, only to get a mouthful from his older brother – a Pirates Fan.

The young lad was then further reprimanded by his uncle, and also given a public dressing down by his Cornish supporting dad. After this verbal harassment and in full view of many fans, the father asked his son "So, have you learnt an important lesson!?". "Yes", the youngster replied, "I've only been an Exeter fan for 5 minutes and already I hate you Cornish twats".
