City's wideboys are doing the business

ECFC are enjoying more success on the wings at the moment than Colonel Sanders. Lively winger Wayne Carlisle followed up a winner over Tamworth at the weekend by bagging a brace away at Crawley, with City's other flying winger Lee Elam knocking in the opener in a 3-0 victory.

Northern Ireland Under 21 international Carlisle is revelling in Manager Paul Tisdale's tactics which encourages City to play with more width than Lisa Riley's arse. With the strikers all managing meagre goal tallies this term, the importance of goals from out wide has been priceless. However, Elam's scoring rate has been the bright spot of his play as other areas of his game have not overly impressed the City faithful.

One season ticket holder was quoted as saying "He's quick and thinks he's the Cristiano Ronaldo of the Conference but he keeps farting around losing the ball, he can't pass that well and concedes possession and for a winger he doesn't seem to like crossing the ball."
