Rushden & Diamonds take negativity to new levels

Whilst Conference sides lack many of the skills of truly world-class teams, Rushden & Diamonds last night took time-wasting to a level that would even have shocked Arsene Wenger.

Their negative tactics and desire for a 0-0 bore-draw was exemplified by their time-wasting from as early as the fifth minute.

ECFC did manage to get the ball behind the two lines of Rushden defence and into the net in injury time, but it was ruled out by the ref/linesman/other(?) for reasons unknown.

If further additional injury time had been consecutively added on it would not have been undeserved, although the season does finish in May!
