Tamworth jinx continues
There are many tales about how the Tamworth curse came about. Many City fans believe it goes back to 1954 when Exeter supporters slaughtered the Tamworth mascot 'Peter the Pig' by barbecuing him and feeding him to the players. Another urban legend dates further back to Tamworth centre-back Billy McDougal. In 1905, against Billy's wishes, his daughter married Exeter brothel owner Reg Duggend who put his new bride into 'the business'. Billy swore revenge but an endless supply of eager sluts sent by Duggend kept his appetite for vengeance suppressed.
Of course, the most recent explanation is that City once again failed to kill off an inferior opposition who lucked out from a set piece. Wankers.
