City fullback becomes celebrity chef

18/01/07 - 0 comments

ECFC defender Billy Jones has been helping out the half-time Pie Stand by coming up with a number of great recipes for eating your words.

Jones, 23, missed a penalty against former club Kidderminster in a Conference match last November and was quoted before the weekend's FA Trophy encounter with them as saying:

"I haven't had a penalty since then but I am quite looking forward to taking the next one. I see this as just another normal game. I know I am playing against my former club and I would really like to score against them."

After giving such an articulate interview, Jones went out on Saturday and blazed another penalty wide against his former employers, resulting in a 1-0 defeat.

No further comments have been made by Jones regarding future penalties against former clubs, but hopefully one portion of words and chips will be sufficient.
