Romance of the cup

As the usual clichés about the oldest and finest Cup tournament in the world are banded about, an FA Cup victory at the weekend against Ryman League side AFC Wimbledon has handed the Grecians a plumb home tie against League Two giants Stockport County.

Two first half goals from Taylor and Challinor cemented a fairly comfortable win despite easing off in the second half.

ECFC fans' memories will of course go back to the famous cup tie at Old Trafford last year, and the two hundred or so travelling Stockport fans that visit St James Park for the next round are sure to make more noise than the 50,000 Mancs that were present that day!
