Ruby rides to Best Mate Beginners Chace victory

Natal ridden by Ruby Walsh (possibly the only bloke named after a precious stone, if Jade is actually is a female that is) gave the bookies an up and down day on Tuesday as he romped home at short odds of only 1-3!

The favourite had been well backed but at such miserly odds the bookies weren't exactly breaking open their piggy banks. The conditions for the race were reasonable and the going was good, although with the conditions being as they have been in the area it seemed likely the jockeys would need flippers for the meet rather than whips!

Reports that the horses were in the area to board an ark were later dismissed.
