Port Vale pissed at us
2 commentsIt looks like nobody bothered to check the state of the pitch on Sunday morning as the game against Port Vale was called off at the last minute because of a bit of frost.
Valiant fans are a bit miffed that no-one bothered to check the state of the pitch in the morning, and according to fan Phil Sherwin "Rochdale had a 10am inspection, but Exeter seem to have forgotten they are back in the Football League and are obviously still run like a non-league outfit."
There were numerous other games called off on Saturday, so we're guessing the Grecians were expecting a sudden heat wave to thaw the pitch mid-morning.
Phil goes on to say: "Exeter City seem to be the ones who were at fault. Not just because they didn't cover the pitch – don't they have weather forecasts down there? – but because they didn't let people know that there was a problem early on Saturday morning."
OK, so the MET office may have moved down here, but they're still reliably unreliable when it comes to the weather.
