Dawlish Town cruised through to the semi-finals of the Devon Bowl last night, dumping out Plymouth Argyle 4-1. However, the size of the victory was influenced in no small part due to many first team players being absent – from the Dawlish side!

Manager Chris Myers explained before the match: "Two or three reserves will be drafted in as reward for doing well, and regulars Craig Fenner and Gary Head are definitely out, which opens the door for others to come in."

A full strength Dawlish would no doubt have racked up double figures against the Plymouth side. Dawlish fans are now eagerly hoping that many of their first team players will be back in action for the next round, where they face stiffer opposition in the form of Tiverton Town.
