Exeter braced for more international action

20/02/08
St James Park will play host to England C versus Wales under 23s tomorrow night, as England look to defend their International Challenge Trophy title.

After the success of the women's under 21 England v France fixture held at 'the Park' in 2006, it seems the ground is starting to build some prestige. England C captain Ronnie Henry has already described his pleasure at the choice of venue, stating "Exeter is a lovely ground, so we're looking forward to it now."

Perhaps all this recognition will stem the tide of the regular talk of the ground being flogged off in order to be demolished and replaced by overpriced housing, a story which pops up every in the local rags every couple of months or so. But despite the constant rumours, City fans remain hopeful that there will always be at least one St. James Park in England that isn't full of disappointed geordies.
