Darts player facing ban
The player, who can not be named whilst an appeal is in progress, was found to have under the mandatory 7 pints of lager in his blood levels before the start of the match, and therefore under Rule 14c of League Regulations ineligible to play.
However, an appeal has been lodged by the player's pub who claim that due to health reasons and on-going medication, the player was not drinking pints of lager - but had successfully managed to knock back 14 shots of whiskey and was therefore compliant with blood alcohol levels to compete in the match.
A spokesperson from the League has released the following statement "We take breaches of regulations very seriously and shall be giving this investigation our full attention, in the pub on Sunday".
