Tisdale's tinkering comes up trumps

30/01/08 - 0 comments

ECFC manager Paul Tisdale produced yet another formation for Exeter City's league match away at play-off rivals Cambridge last night. The City manager employed a 4-1-4-1 formation in order to stifle the opposition, and the tactics came up trumps as City ground out an important 1-0 victory.

A more defensive minded approach may well become a regular feature over the coming months for City. Current top-scorer Richard Logan seems to have lost favour with the management - resulting in his permanent position on the bench - which together with in-form striker Jamie Mackie's move to Plymouth Argyle have limited City's attacking options.

Once again, Tisdale looks set to plunder the local lower leagues in an attempt to bring in fresh forward options. With just one day left before the January transfer window closes, club scouts are busily casting their gaze over the silky skills of Exeter & District Sunday Football League Division Four's finest.
