Exmouth kite-surfer takes world title
0 commentsExmouth based kite-surfer Steph Bridge has been crowned the first Ladies PKRA Course Racing World Champion, after securing enough points in the final round in Germany to take the title.
Bridge, who works for Edge Water Sports in Exmouth and is a top kite-surfing instructor, has high hopes the sport will make it into the Olympics - especially with England hosting in 2012. In a recent interview she said "People are talking about 2012. Weymouth would be a fantastic spot to hold the kite-surfing Olympics. I think something will happen, whether or not it will happen by 2012 who knows, watch this space."
Strangely, the outstanding achievement of a World Title from a competitor just down the road in Exmouth failed to gain any recognition on our poor relation the thisisexeter site, who have also started including Torquay United match reports on their site(!!!?). The Express & Arsehole, not just a crap paper, but a shit website too.
