ECFC win at home!

09/10/07 - 0 comments

ECFC broke their home form voodoo by beating Grays 1-0 on Saturday. Top scorer Richard Logan netted his eighth goal of the season to break a sequence of fives draws in a row at St James Park.

Striker Logan's form looks set to solve City's dearth of forward power, with a 15-20 goal a season striker being a commodity which has been significantly lacking since ECFC's demise to the Conference.

Throughout the club's history, ECFC fans have had the pleasure of watching front men of the calibre of Ronnie Jepson, Darran Rowbotham, the legendary Cliff Bastin and all time ECFC top scorer Tony Kellow, which makes watching the crap cart-horse-like efforts of attackers like Richard Pears, Steve Flack and Sean McCarthy over the last few years all the more stomach churning.

The ECFC record for most goals in a season is held by Fred Whitlow who knocked in 33 goals during the 1932/33 Division 3 South campaign, a total higher than all of City's forwards put together last term.
