Rampant Chiefs batter the Titans

17/09/07
After another woeful display from England in the World Cup, a French referee blind to forward passes and match commentary from ITV so annoying that it makes you want to reach into the TV screen to strangle the twats, once again the responsibility to put a smile on the faces of rugby fans in the area was left to the Exeter Chiefs – and boy did they deliver!

Last year’s league runners-up Rotherham Titans were torn apart by a Chiefs side that chalked up 10 tries in their 62-10 demolition job.

The way in which the Chiefs swept aside a team who should be league title challengers will fill the club with increasing confidence, and the victory also marked a fitting tribute for the recent passing away of Alan ‘Ticker’ Lamb, club steward/groundsman/bar jockey and a really lovely bloke.
