McLaren to be offered job at City?
0 commentsAs Steve McLaren's miserable tenure in charge of England continues to deteriorate and his future as manager hangs in the balance, contacts close to the ECFC board have admitted that they may be able to find a place for him at St. James' Park – possibly as a ticket stand attendant or toilet cleaner.
As a club manager, McLaren splashed the cash at Middlesboro without ever attaining any real success - the high points being lifting the League/Mickey Mouse Cup and a UEFA Cup final where his side were thoroughly outclassed and thrashed 4-0. McLaren's reputation seems to have been almost entirely built on his success as a number 2 - to Fergie at Man U and Eriksson for England. Certainly the majority of England fans consider McLaren to be a real number 2!
To further endear himself to the nation, McClaren infamously stormed out of a post-match press conference in March earlier this year following a lacklustre performance against Andorra after only two minutes of questions, stating "Gentlemen, if you want to write whatever you want to write, you can write it because that is all I am going to say! Thank you." Perhaps a promising career as ECFC spokesperson beckons...?
