Does Santa exist?

Ladysmith Junior School in Heavitree recently told students that it was staff at the Post Office who actually answer the letters sent to Father Christmas.

Teachers at the school told a room full of 10 year olds that Santa didn't exist, shattering the magical illusion of Christmas. Head Teacher Jackie Jackson has now written a letter of appology to parents, stating that the lesson would not be taught again.

A parent, who asked not to be named, said "What gives the school the right to decide when children should know the truth"? What indeed.

Meanwhile, the Post Office stated that "it received around 750,000 letters sent to Father Christmas" and that "the letters were forwarded to Santa". With this kind of mis-information it's no wonder kids are confused.

It's noticable however that no-one mentions that fictional charactor Jesus when talking about "the magic of Christmas".
