DCC gets kids to buy booze

It has been discovered that Devon County Council Officers have been trying to get children to buy alcohol for them in the run up to Christmas.

It's thought with the amount of pay cuts that the staff have had over the last few weeks, and the massive turnaround in the review process, council officers have been demoted to drinking White Lightning and 20/20 outside off-licences around the city.

Apparently this is not an unknown problem within the council's ranks and the situation is getting better slowly.

Cllr Brian Berman, Devon County Council's executive member for communities, said: "There has been some improvement over the last two years, it is still a significant problem, fuelling anti-social behaviour and prejudicing the safety of young people".
