Keith Chegwin's fall from grace
1 commentIn what can only be described as a massive misuse of trust, Keith Chegwin has appeared before magistrates in Exeter and admitted stealing money from children.
Keith, 43, now living in Treetops, High Ashton, Exeter with his parents, got a job at the Exeter sorting office in Sowton 5 months ago and has been targeting letters addressed "Miss" or "Master" in the hope of scoping some birthday cash from within.
The TV star has never before been linked with this kind of activity until Keith was caught 'red-handed' by top postal brass. The thefts only came to light after a large amount of damaged mail was linked back to him, and he was caught in a targeted sting operation.
Chegwin is said to have been using the money to uphold his 'rock star' life, splashing out on cigarettes and alcohol.
Chegwin was told "We are appalled at your lack of concern towards the community and the impact of your offending on young people", was fined £1500 and given 150 hours of community service.
Hopefully this won't involve another series of Naked Jungle.
