A sixty-something couple have had their collars felt by HM boys in blue for having a little smoke at home to celebrate not dying for another year. How bloody dare they!

The sexagenarians, Mike Bending (66) and wife Patricia (62) were up before the beak for possession of cannabis and amphetamines, which the couple had gotten in to celebrate Patricia's birthday.

The couple were fined £100 between them, Mrs Bending was given a 12 month conditional discharge while Mr Bending got a three-month night time curfew. That'll stop them hanging around the shops at night causing trouble.

The court has allowed the restrictions placed on the couple can be relaxed for one week in October so the couple can go away to celebrate their 40th wedding anniversary, in Amsterdam probably.
