More ASBOs for dealers

0 commentsYet again the Devon and Cornwall Police have proved themselves painfully ineffective by simply giving ASBOs to a pair who are said to have been dealing heroin and cocaine in Exeter.
In the olden days, if you committed a serious crime you would probably face at the very least a stint in prison. Now it seems that dealing class A drugs is a fairly minor misdemeanor that will get you a slap on the wrist and a polite 'move along'.
The problem, it would seem, is that putting criminals in prison doesn't turn a very good profit. It costs money to keep these bastards detained at Her Majesties pleasure, but if we just tell them to piss off it hardly costs a thing, and they can concentrate on the real criminals - drivers.
