Google Streetview goes live in Exeter

11/03/10 - 0 comments

Google's data-banks are now fit to burst as the massive data-whore now has pictures of pretty much all of Devon's roads, including Exeter, on it's servers.

Devon must take up a fair amount of data as it has the longest road network of any county in England, according to the Wikipedia, although if you believe that...

Exeter's High Street is noticeably missing, although as it's a bus access only what did they expect. Maybe the council will let them go down with a special escort, although we doubt very much if they'll be able to get down Parliament street.

Some of our readers have already started hunting themselves, with a few successes, but alas no-one falling on their asses or sunbathing topless as of yet. We can but hope.

At least the Exeter Tourist Board will be happy. They chose a lovely day for it and the roads seem pretty clear. Can't ask for a better showcase really.
