We saved the Tar Barrels

We can exclusively reveal that ThisIsntExeter has single-handedly saved the Tar Barreling in Ottery St. Mary.

After a claim on the insurance last year the organisors were having dificulty finding public liability insurance, but due to our extensive media campaign insurers have come forward. Even the one time insurance broker for Evel Knievel came forward to help look for cover.

In a statement, Graham Rowland said "The publicity has helped us find an insurance firm willing to provide cover this year". Previously they had been quoted up to £45,000 to cover the event due to some dumb cow claiming last year after being "knocked to the ground".

The free show will go ahead with cover from Chesterfield and Brit Insurance plc. but visitors are asked to give generously to help keep the event running in future years.

Remember, if you see a flaming tar barrel coming your way, move.
