Autumn leaves fall off trees

04/11/09 - 2 comments

In an unprecedented turn of events all the leaves on the city's deciduous trees have turned golden/brown and fallen to the ground.

The council have sent out 'a dedicated army' of people and vehicles (including two 20 tonners) to clear up the hundreds of tonnes of leaves that have suddenly leapt from the safety of the branches.

The city's street sweepers have also been called up to active service to help remove the debris and detritus and together they have already picked up over 175 tonnes of material, although there's some way to go before they beat last years total of 400 tonnes.

Geez, I envy those country bumpkins in Barnstaple and Crediton that don't have all this city hustle and bustle to deal with. City life, n'est ce pas?

To avoid asinine, hateful rebuts, it's sarcasm.
