Students at it again
0 commentsFifteen students at Exeter University have made sure they won't forget their good old uni days by branding the initials of their halls on to themselves.
Well, we've got to hand it to them, it's different. We made some T-shirts and when reminiscing looked up the old Alma Mater on Google Earth, but these guys went that little bit further.
The students heated up coat-hangers bent in to shape and then branded themselves, holding the hot metal against their searing flesh for 10 seconds, some biting on wooden spoons to dull the pain.
A spokeswoman for the university said: "This is the first incident of its kind and it is not one we would condone" although human branding and scarification have been around for years.
You would be forgiven for thinking the students were drunken lunatics, but by all account the actions had been talked through beforehand and was not a spontaneous act of drunken stupidity.
Three of the students had to visit the hospital in the end to be given antibiotics to fight off infections picked up in the process.
