Only two people arrested at Carnage event in Exeter

26/10/09 - 2 comments

After all the fuss the local news outlets made over the Carnage event, a total of two people were arrested on public order offences last night.

Full details are still emerging, but it seems that the vast majority of attendees were out to enjoy themselves and not destroy the place on a vast rampage, the likes of which this city hasn't seen since the blitz.

We're trying desperately not to say 'We told you so', but, you know...

So all in all, it would seem that the event went rather well, with less arrests than any normal Friday or Saturday night in Exeter. Public disorder can in fact simply mean at some point the 2 students used 'insulting words' so we'll see what comes of that.

On a side note, we feel we should point out we are in no way associated with CarnageUK, we simply believe people are generally not out to cause trouble, they just fancy a good night out with their new classmates.

Saw more trouble from the embittered ManU fans last night but is it really beyond this year's intake that they can't organise their own pub crawls?!? Lest we forget we have had fatalities in Exeter related to student pub crawls so it's not surprising that venues steer clear of them.

some of the content here seems like it's been paid for by carnage? it's not funny, just seems like a poor attempt to mask marketing as satire.
As Peachy pointed out, there have been a number of students in Exeter that have died after drinking too much alcohol in the last few years
