Lympstone opens drive-through pub
1 commentAfter nearly 3 years, the idea of the drive-through pub has been revisited at the Saddler's Arms in Lympstone.
The idea was initially drempt up at the Queens Vaults back in 2006 who found it dificult to get the cars in and out of the premises.
In an age when older drinkers are being forced out of pubs that are becoming trendy city-centre wine bars, this new initiative at the Saddler's Arms is encouraging drinkers of all ages to come and have a swift half.
One such reveler turned up in a caravanette and found the service so inviting he came back shortly afterwards for a second helping. Unfortunately for patrons of the pub at the time, his first attempt was at 30mph, missing the drive-through window and smashing in to the restaraunt, before reversing out and having another go at it.
The man in his 90's, understood to be holidaying in Devon having come down from from Oldham in Lancashire, was thought to have been legless behind the wheel before he arrived at the pub.
Stop driving like pricks -
Make your minds up you lot -
Another stupid idea from the council -
It's not disrepair, it's traffic calming -
Exeter's 'Don't be a prick' campaign -
