Improvements needed for Police service

21/09/09 - 0 comments

Criminals and ne'er-do-wells have let the police know that they are not satisfied with the conditions of the holding cells in police stations across the county.

In a customer satisfaction survey (err what?) that Devon and Cornwall police handed out to around 1,000 prisoners, 41 questions were asked about their time in chokey and what could be done to improve their experience of their time in custody.

Some of those questioned complained of bright lights and not being able to sleep and that the newspapers and magazines offered to them were not varied enough. Some even called for smoking breaks.

The food was also criticized, and 'inmates' wanted MTV and generally didn't like staying there. Unfortunately for them they don't get the choice.

One woman however commented on the sergeant's voice saying he was 'very sexy' and that she 'Must come back.'

The survey has been branded as a massive waste of time by those inside and outside of the force. We could have told them that most of the criminal types don't like being locked up against their will in a concrete box, and it wouldn't have cost a thing.
