If swine flu hasn't killed you yet it probably won't

14/07/09 - 0 comments

As cases of 'suspected' swine flu mount up in the region the NHS and WHO don't seem too bothered about the pandemic as now no tests are being done to confirm symptoms as swine flu.

So far only one person in the UK has died from the flu without being infected or weakened by another debilitating infection, so the chances of this 'silent killer' actually affecting any of us in a significant manor is tiny.

Even the students at Exeter University who contracted this thing will be right as rain in no time, just a little hot soup and a dose of Jeremy Kyle and they'll be happy.

The worst thing you could do at this point, if you're feeling a bit sniffley, is to go in to any large building filled with other sick people, like say, a hospital or a doctors surgery.

If you feel like crap then for God's sake stay at home with a cup of Lemsip and feel sorry for yourself. If you really need to speak to someone about your dripping nose then the swine flu information line is on 08001 513513, or visit www.nhs.uk for more information.

Oh, and while you're at it, don;t bother calling the NHS Direct number, you'll just clog up the lines for genuinely ill people.
