Only 18 crap channels to choose from now
0 commentsAccording to the Echo thousands of people are complaining because they only have 18 different TV channels to watch on their posh new telly-boxes.
The digital switch-over in Exeter went without a hitch, making us the first digital city in the UK and giving us loads of new channels to play with, although viewers who's aerials point towards the St. Thomas transmitter have had a reduced amount of channels made available because of spectrum issues.
As many as 48 channels are available from the main antenna on Stockland Hill, although to receive the main signal your aerial may need to be repositioned.
We here in the TIE offices are currently on the St. Thomas antenna, and whilst we only have a meagre 18 channels to choose from it's a damn sight better than the 4 we originally had. Not bad for free. Hell, we can finally get Channel 5, officially launched in March 1997, but alas the topless darts are no more.
The only thing we're really missing is Dave, how about dropping Channel 4+1 in exchange?
