Surprise screenings at the Vue
0 commentsStarting on the 5th of May, the Vue cinema will be screening a mystery film every month, giving audiences a chance to see new and unusual films.
The idea is that you pays your money and get settled in, but not until the opening credits roll (well, the BBFC classification screen) will you know what you're in for.
Vue Entertainment's sales and marketing director, Mark de Quervain, says: "We're playing on the thrill of the unknown. It's all about getting people to see films they normally wouldn't see. We want to broaden their film horizons and offer an exciting cinema experience."
We think this is a good way to see some films. Especially Event Horizon or Dark City, two films that we went to see at the Odeon on a friends recommendation with no idea what they were about and no preconceptions of what we were about to see, and lets just say after Event Horizon we were glad the lights came back on.
Hopefully the movies they show will be something that's worth watching, although if you leave within the first 20 minutes you'll get your money back.
