A WKD night out for kids
0 commentsTrading Standards have been blitzing offies with under-age drinkers attempting to buy booze, and have revealed that 6 out of 7 retailers in Exeter are not prompting for ID.
Apparently we're the worst in Devon (We're number 1!), who on average did not prompt for ID 60% of the time.
These figures are probably a little misleading however, as the boys and girls at Trading Standards were this time using 16 and 17 year-olds to bait their traps, instead of the usual 14 and 15 year-olds.
We recently spoke to a retailer caught out selling alcohol to under 18's, who said the girl they sent in had such big boobs he didn't even think to ask how old she was.
It's no wonder our lovely Agony Aunt got ID'd going into EX4.
So at long last we now know where these kids have been getting the plonk they drink in parks, although lets be fair, coming down hard on someone selling booze to a 17 and-a-bit year-old is a bit of a cop out really.
Maybe they had a quota to fill.
