New name, still bastards
0 commentsWJ Parking are becoming well known to us for their underhanded tactics and attitudes towards the elderly, infirm and the helpless, so much so that they've changed their name.
Trading as Sapphire Security, their latest ploy is to put up large pay and display signs but not to bother putting in a machine to issue tickets. This way if anyone parks in the area you can get a guaranteed £100 out of them as they plead with you to take off the clamp.
The latest example of this was during a concert at the Cathedral, put on by the folks at Exeter School, where Sapphire Security clamped an estimated 30 cars, including the cars of families with young children, who could be potentially stranded without transport, and Devon county councillor Christine Channon.
Mrs Channing said she had managed to find a "Pay Here" sign in a dark corner beside the old hospital (ideal for young families to go poking about in, watch out for those needles!) but that there was no machine in place to take money or issue the all important tickets.
So not only do you have to scrabble about in a unlit parking lot to look for a ticket machine which doesn't exist, you have to pay £100 for the privilege.
Their website proudly boasts: "All our services are backed by a dedicated team of the highest calibre whose role is to ensure that all projects run smoothly and effectively. At Sapphire we do our utmost to provide a first class service and our reputation is built on a history of the right solution with proper implementation, management and monitoring."
Our bullshit detector is going into overload.
