Bomb-dogs are for life...

19/03/09 - 0 comments

It's being reported that the Devon and Cornwall Police Constabulary are having a dog-drive, as they are in need of animals to look for drugs and bombs.

Police are looking for the more active breeds of dog, such as springer or cocker spaniels and labradors, and are asking for owners who are having difficulty looking dogs to come forward so the animals can be trained by el Plod to sniff out mentalists from Plymouth (they're going to need a lot more dogs - Ed) and their home-made explosives.

Course instructor Pc David King said "Some people may have an energetic dog they can no longer look after properly. As long as the dogs are not aggressive or nervous we can give them a fantastic life with the police dog handlers who will exercise and work them daily."

We're guessing that's until they get scattered liberally about the countryside at high velocity, or until they OD on a bag of coke in the back of a mini-van in Cornwall.

Anyone looking to find a new home for their dog should email Pc Martin Le Blanc at martin.leblanc@devonandcornwall.pnn.police.uk
