Christ on a bike!

If you believe in God you're probably wrong. Well that's what the scientific community think and who are we to argue with them?

Unfortunately there are still a few people about who still feel the need to have a make-believe best friend, and they seem to have a bit of a persecution complex these days, which is somewhat ironic.

The latest brouhaha is over the child of one of these fantasists who told one of her school friends that if she didn't believe in her imaginary friend she would spend eternity burning in the fiery pits of hell.

One of the teachers stepped in and told the little girl (it's always the girls causing trouble, isn't it?) not to upset other young and impressionable students, who promptly went and told her mum that she had been 'told off for talking about God'.

The mother, a part-time receptionist at the very same school, wrote an email (burn the witch, she's using science!) to her church group lambasting the school for their intolerance.

Gary Read, the school's head teacher, launched an investigation into the alleged incident at his school after one of the church group forwarded him the email.

Mr Read said: "[The girl] told another pupil 'if you don't believe in God you're going to go to hell'. [She] was told it is not OK to say that, but it is OK to discuss what you believe with others."

Mike Judge, from the Christian Institute, had this to say: "This is the latest in a series of cases where Christians are being persecuted for their religious beliefs."

Err, no. This is Christians trying to push their faith beliefs through children and calling foul when someone with a modicum of common sense steps in to stop the spread of this nasty virus which turns other otherwise rational and reasonable people into unthinking sheep.

For the record, we're not saying there isn't a God, just that we think it is very unlikely that some benevolent being wished us all into existence. We don't know where everything came from, but 'Magic happened' is not a reasonable explanation.

Yo Drew, get a life, it's not harsh, it's very fair. The Ed's telling it like it is and keeping it real. Innit.
P.S. Ed, love all the bible adverts at the bottom of the article...
