Boom bang-a-bang
1 commentCounty Hall was evacuated today after the boys and girls at Devon County Council received a bomb threat.
Staff were forced out into the cold for the best part of an hour to face abuse from the public (apparently one lorry driver shouted "Get back to work you lazy bastards!") before being let back into the building.
The wait was apparently made more bearable by the presence of members of the Devon Primary Care Trust, who provided a visual feast for those stuck out in the cold, particularly one leggy brunette who was wearing fetching black tights (you know who you are).
Normally in a situation like this a trained team are called in to search the building before staff are allowed back inside, although from what we've been told staff were told to have a look for anything suspicious on their way back to their desks.
All we can think is this is such bad timing, had it been a day or two prior then the jobs-worth councillors would have had to go out and stand in the snowstorm and sleet we've all had such fun with.
