Heavitree's monumental backlash

The folk of Heavitree are still not happy with the giant waste of cash and resources that is the Heavitree arch.

In a show of their contempt for the council, the Heavitree Sculpture Focus Group have turned out with paint cans in hand and given Nellie some company in the shape of "Archie the red faced council worker".

'Archie' cuts a fine figure in his suit and bowler hat with his embarrassed red cheeks and fingers buried deep in his ears to stop him from hearing the ranks of descenting citizens who are rallying against him.

The best news is that as the gun shop is considered private property the council cannot have the mural removed (although it looks like they've had a go) and, as long as the owner of the gun shop doesn't make a complaint, the police cannot take action against it's authors.

The Peoples Front of Heavitree have said they will continue work on a community based mural on the side of the Light of India restaurant further up the street, which undoubtedly will cost a considerable amount LESS than the £170k the arch cost to produce and erect.

The paintings may not be able to change the street scenery of Heavitree but hopefully the council will take into account the feelings and wishes of it's residents before it buries thousands of pounds of our money into a fool's errand in future.

Who are we kidding, will they fuck.

Okay so I disagree with the mural and the amount of money it cost –especially in this time on financial crisis– but The Peoples Front of Heavitree need to grow up, the graffiti is terrible and it spoils the mural for anyone who might enjoy it –I know that maybe only a few people, but still they have no right to take that enjoyment away. Now the whole thing looks terrible, and no one is doing anything about it, if the gun shop doesn’t mind graffiti upon its side then it what’s stopping me from getting some overalls, a can or two of paint, a few girls (scantily clad of course) some crack and a hole-punch and going over there and painting: I SUCKED OFF JESUS on the side of the building huh? Who’s gonna stop me? The police? The council? The people’s front of Heavitree? The Heavitree people’s front? The front of Heavitree people? …not them, bloody heathens. Still, the point remains that the employees of Summerfield Heavitree must be stopped, each one of them is just slightly more retarded then the next …shopping there is like beating your way round a mental home with a big stick. KILL ALL SUMMERFIELD EMPLOYEES (apart from that one fit girl.) F-you Heavitree.
