Another weapon equipped stand-off in Wonford was not stopped by the ban on samurai swords and fantasy weapons.

Two men armed with am axe and pruning saw were perused by a man with a hammer at a time when children were coming out of schools.

It appears that no one was badly injured in the incident and that least two of the men had been drinking to excess.

Another example of when people will use whatever is at hand if they want to inflict some damage. What's next, a ban on pruning saws?

The two guys who were on trial were both given 12 month sentences under the perfectly adequate existing legal framework.

Job done.
