Echo pulls out of Exeter
0 commentsIt seems that the credit crunch is not just hitting the average man in the street, if there even is such a thing, as the Express and Echo close their office in Sidwell street.
A notice in the window stated the outlet for the paper has moved, although we would suggest this is more of a strategic withdrawal as they state that their 'new' address as the current premises in Sowton.
We're guessing the group can't afford to keep a city office open in the current climate and that a tightening of belts is in action.
Either that or they're just trying to wring out as much cash from the local newspaper market as they can with as little expenditure as possible. To be fair though, from what we've been told the office is pretty useless anyway. Maybe it was about time a few P45s were put in the post.
