Echo Samurai sword ban fails
0 commentsIt seems that despite the best efforts of the monkeys at the Express & Echo, the ban on the sale of samurai swords has failed to stop people being attacked with large pointy weapons.
Police said a 54-year-old woman was attacked in Torquay on Tuesday and has been left with wounds to her hands and forearm and a 56-year-old man was being held in custody on suspicion of GBH.
A spokesman for the Devon and Cornwall Police said that six Samurai swords had been discovered at a property in Union Road, ranging from 1ft (30cm) to 3ft (92cm) in length.
It's still unclear what exactly transpired, but the attack was not prevented in any way by the legislation the Echo pressured the government into putting in to place, with the help of media lackey Ben Bradshaw.
It would also seem that this new legislation is completely irrelevant in this particular case, what with it already being illegal to brandish a weapon like this in a public place, oh and also to attack someone with a weapon.
It seems somewhat akin to going up to a ferocious pit-bull terrier, kicking it square in the balls and saying "Now you're not allowed to bite me" before covering your wedding tackle with gravy and shoving it into the dog's mouth.
Down boy!
