Osama spotted in Devon

10/09/08 - 0 comments
The infamous, unshaven Osama bin-Laden was spotted amongst the crowds at the Grampound village carnival last week, prompting new security alerts in the region.

After an investigation by the old bill information has been released pointing towards their very own Ch Supt Colin Terry as the culprit.

The officer, it turns out, had dressed up as the rag-headed terrorist as part of the carnival celebrations and was not a member of the family with close relations to the Bushes.

The officer has since apologised for the incident saying that "the carnival is a community event and I am extremely disappointed if it has caused offence and I am most apologetic for that.

"I should have been a bit more careful because of my job" and that "there was never any intention to offend anyone".

It seems that someone in the crowd lost their sense of Britishness and forgot that we shouldn't shy away from these things, but face them head on.

On November 5th we'll all be going round lighting bonfires and watching small controlled explosive devices detonate meters above our heads in celebration of Guy Fawkes' failed attempts at blowing up the Parliament buildings.

What's to say in years to come we'll all be dressing up as Osama and playing stupid games involving precariously balanced towers of some sort.

It's not that we don't care about the events of September the 11th, 2001, but that we choose not to let the actions of a few extremists dictate how we behave.

We here at ThisIsntExeter salute you Mr. Terry. You would've gotten away with it too if it wasn't for those pesky kids...
