Playing the long game

To our surprise, when Devon County Council reversed the one way direction in Bampfylde Street they kept the on street parking and moved it across the street, but now it's being removed altogether.

The council's war of cars is getting devious. First they reverse the direction, keeping the parking and completely flummoxing half of the population in a successful distraction from the real plan.

Only now after the council has admitted that the direction change was a 'mistake' has the true agenda come to light, the removal of all on street parking in the City.

We put it to you, what's more likely, the Council being a disorganised bunch of twits who haven't got the foggiest how to run a city the size of Exeter, or an organised scheming nest of vipers with a hidden agenda.

OK, so it's probably the first one, but there's one thing for certain, there's less parking in the city this morning.

Where will they strike next?
