Exeter City Council's parking problem
1 commentThe council in this city have been fighting a long stated war on cars, but the double standards they display really do defy belief.
On Friday Tony Mottershaw was walking through the Mary Arches car park saw the view above. A City Council van parked sideways through a disabled space.
The council claimed vehicle had been "responding to an urgent call" in the car park and that it was "parked only for a short period".
You can imagine how these excuses would have been received if it was you or I being taken to task by one of the parking Nazis.
Mr Mottershaw said the driver "appeared to be over doing something at the pay-and-display machine, but there were plenty of other places he could've parked the van".
The 'urgent call' was obviously an emergency sandwich run for city councillors. They just needed a few extra quid from out of our pockets first.
