Give that man a medal
0 commentsParts of Sidwell Street were sealed off yesterday when Police were called in after receiving reports of a man firing a weapon in the area.
Police were responding to reports of a man shooting at seagulls at about 7pm. Apparently he was using his cunning and guise to lure the air-rats into his aim.
Unfortunately, rather than having a high powered sniper rifle, the chap in question actually had a BB gun (which contrary to anything the Echo will probably tell you, actually fires PLASTIC PELLETS) when he was arrested.
As the 21-year-old was tossed into the back of a paddy wagon for affray, he was heard to shout 'You'll live to regret this coppers!' The area was reopened after about 30 minutes.
Unfortunately police said no seagulls were killed. So much for the medal.
