No pole dancing, we're British

28/05/08
Exeter College has turfed a student out on her ear after they deemed her pole dancing fitness regime morally corrupt, forcing her to pay for an alternate venue for her workshop.

Kirstie Mills, who has cystic fibrosis, started pole dancing to improve her health and says it has helped her dramatically as part of a fitness program.

Exeter College claim to support "Equality, diversity and inclusiveness" and give "Encouragement and support" in their mission statement, but this is obviously one student who feels that the College is out of touch with modern Britain and is being discriminated against.

Surely it's a college's duty to prepare students for working life with training and an education in their chosen field, even if they will end up down at Tiffany's with fivers stuffed in their knickers at the end of it all.
