Explosion in city restaraunt
0 commentsUpdated @ 16:15
At 12:50 today a number of explosive devices went of in the Giraffe restaurant in the Princeshay shopping centre injuring at least one person.
It's reported that a man walked into the restaurant shortly before the explosions went off, and although only one injury has been reported so far the RD&E are not expecting large numbers of casualties.
Three bangs were heard coming from a locked toilet cubical and indications are that 3 small nail bombs were exploded on the premises.
We can only assume that the bombs wasn't very powerful as it only seems to have managed to knock out the twat targeting the outlet.
Firearms officers have been sent to the scene in the hope that they would get to Taser the guy but he was already in police custody.
Witnesses to the 'explosions' described it as sounding "like a lightbulb exploding". Scary potatoes indeed.

Devon and Cornwall Police said: "We are carrying out a careful evacuation of the premises using the police and other emergency services that are at the scene.
"We will update the people of Exeter about what has happened as soon as we can.
"In the meantime, I'd urge motorists to stay away from the city centre area and road delays are likely."
Paris Street and High Street have been closed to traffic while police deal with the situation, although as of yet there has been no update on the D&C Constabulary website.
Police have requested outlets retain any CCTV footage from the time, so no doubt tomorrow's Echo will contain the usual grainy pictures showing nothing in particular, and as Princesshay are averse to having photographs taken without written permission first there shouldn't be many pics of the destruction.
