This town, is coming like a ghost town

13/05/08
A week into the roadworks in Heavitree that closed an entire side of the city to incoming traffic, and it has proven to be the best way to get cars out of the city-centre.

For months, even years, Exeter City Council's war on cars has been slowly but surely making it harder and harder to drive a car in Exeter, but this new team effort with Balfour Beatty (who are still in the middle of a cash for quotes scandal) the results are staggering.

By completely stopping people from entering Exeter the council have smashed their targets for getting people out of their cars, even if they are getting out of them in Plymouth to avoid the dead-zone.

The whole of Heavitree has now been given up as a no go area, left derelict like Chernobyl after the evacuation of the city in 1986. The occasional tumble-weed rolls down the High Street as nature begins to take back that which was once hers.

The only thing missing now is a large herds of mindless zombies to wipe out the last stragglers of humanity.

Or are they already in Plymouth?
