Strong wind breaks window
The clean-up operation began in the early hours as nearly 60 trees had fallen down in what we Devon folk like to refer to as 'wind'.
The wind is thought to have broken out without warning causing no reported cases of injuries or structural damage, although at least one window was broken after being left open overnight.
"I didn't even know it had been windy" said Mike from Torquay, "this is the first I've heard about it. It's scary to think that this sort of thing could happen without warning, I think the council should be more prepared when this could happen at any time."
The wind has since died down, but the MET office are warning people that the wind could re-occur with little warning.
