Something newsworthy in the Echo

An 29-year-old Exeter man has been arrested following a high speed chase through Stoke Cannon ending in a crash in Pinhoe yesterday afternoon.

The grey VW Golf GTI he was driving had been linked to several 'drive-off' offences at petrol stations across the city. When police tried to flag down the vehicle in marked cars it sped off through Penn Hill and St German's Road on it's way out of the city.

The boys in blue had their chopper out (oh-er) and tracked the car as it made it's way back into the city through Pinhoe before it sprinkled itself liberally across the bottom of Wreyfords Lane.
